I hunkered down with my family during Hurricane Ian. We could tell everyone expected us to. All of our friends and all of our contacts at church (who are quickly becoming friends) prepared for several days without power in their homes.
Our Bible study class has a chat and we all sent tips and assurances to each other. Old veterans of past storms called to make sure we had everything we needed. I came to Florida and joined a local church to be part of an active community who helps each other during disasters, natural or not-so-natural.
I’m happy to say I found it. Whether or not the government sends aid, Floridians have each other.
