Disney Bounding

Everyone who knows me knows how I feel about Disney Bounding. It’s an irrational pet peeve. How other people dress at theme parks has nothing to do with me, so why do I care?

It’s unexplainable. There are just some things other people do that generally annoy us, but I do have reasons:

  1. The clothes are wrong for the weather.

I once saw a girl walking around a theme park in 99 degree heat “dressed” as Winne-the-Pooh, that is—full yellow flannel pajamas with a red shirt over the top. She was sweating profusely. Full commitment to the character often means tempting heat exhaustion and smelling like a taxi cab.

  2. They make me think too hard.

The Artist says this is my mild autism at play, but if I can tell you’re not dressed for the weather, I’m going to try to put together who you’re supposed to be. I get more annoyed the vaguer it is. I once saw three girls, one in pink, one in yellow and one in blue. I thought they were Piglet, Pooh and Eeyore until the tiaras convinced me they were pink Aurora, Belle and blue Aurora.

Adults go to the parks ready for hot weather and long walks.
