A family in North Carolina escaped to their roof to avoid the floodwaters. Their last photograph shows a grandmother, grandfather and six-year-old child waiting for rescue before the roof collapsed and they lost their lives. As Hurricane Helene flooded the Carolinas, President Biden announced there would be no more financial aid and tweeted about Public Lands Day.
